Rachel
Hi I'm Rachel Smith. I moved to Leeds for University and never left, gaining my ACA qualification at PwC before spending 15 years in finance and operations roles in large complex businesses spanning retail, manufacturing and financial services.
For the last 8 years I have worked with SMEs as fractional or permanent Finance Director, including three years as FD of a fast -growing data consultancy. I work with businesses to ensure they have the solid financial structure in place to achieve their strategic goals. I am passionate about the transformative impact working with an experienced FD can have on a small business. I am also a board member of One for the City, a community interest company that provides a platform for small businesses to donate 1% of their profit to Leeds charities and a member of the Development Board of Candlelighters, a Yorkshire charity supporting the families of children diagnosed with cancer.
I live in Harrogate with my husband and three children so spend most of my spare time ferrying them to various activities and attempting to finish a never-ending house renovation.
Alison
Hi I’m Alison Fowler – I grew up in West Yorkshire before studying Physical Geography at Newcastle University. I joined the graduate training programme at PwC, Leeds and became ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants) qualified. Subsequently I moved to a plc specialising in financial services and gained the ACT Corporate Treasury qualifications.
I have spent the last few years working for a number of SME's helping with finance related projects and providing fractional Financial Controller services. I am also a passionate trustee for a local outdoor education charity.
As a Mum of three boys who all love to be outdoors, I am a keen walker, a (very slow) runner and I love spending time in the garden.

Hi I’m Rah Mistry - I grew up in Wales before moving to Yorkshire to study Chemistry at Leeds University. Subsequently, I joined the Graduate scheme at PwC where not only did I obtain my ACA qualification but also lots of wonderful experience. I moved on to a large, multi-disciplinary Law Firm as a Senior Accountant where I was responsible for Statutory requirements, monthly reporting, compiling Board packs and reviewing tax calculations. Staying within the firm I progressed onto a Business Partner role where I liaised with each department to improve profitability and lock up management.
More recently, I have worked as a fractional Finance Controller, supporting SMEs to improve their financial processes and reporting, allowing them to have greater insight into their performance so they are able to make informed business decisions.
Outside of work I enjoy photography, music and traveling with my adventurous young family.
